The problem is that leadership has become associated with visioning, strategising and creating clarity where there is ambiguity. Holidays are meant to be an opportunity to get away from the pressures of day to day life, but millions of people are unable to leave their work behind. A survey by Stark Brooks Associates, a recruitment consultant, showed 97% of holidaying business people took their mobile phones and 68% either a laptop or a Blackberry. Just over a third would not consider staying in a resort without wireless access.

FIT NOTES REPLACE SICK NOTES

GP sick notes have been replaced by 'fit notes' with effect from 6th April 2010. Previously a GP's sick note would simply state what condition an individual was suffering from, and whether they were fit for work. The new fit note aims to provide more information about how the condition affects the individual, and how they might return to work, with appropriate support from you their employer.
